What can you expect from the Everlasting Prosperity Buffet?
Before attacking the mains, I got the ball rolling with the Golden Harvest Fish Maw Soup. Savoury and heartwarming, the thick and silky soup had slices of earthy mushrooms and plenty of fluffy fish maw.
If Golden Cereal Prawns is always the first dish you reach for, then you’ll love this version. Crispy, golden-brown, and conveniently peeled, each prawn was a breeze to savour. The cereal crumbs were dangerously addictive, spiked with aromatic curry leaves and fiery chilli padi bits.
The Fortune Trio Cold Platter had the hallmarks of a classic Chinese banquet appetiser. Its enticing appearance immediately drew me in, fork and spoon at the ready.
The jellyfish salad with jade abalone slices left a lasting impression. It was tangy, spicy, and refreshingly zesty, giving my palate a wake-up call with every mouthful. The prawn rolls were scrumptious while the osmanthus egg was teeming with prawns, mushroom and carrots.
A rare find at most buffets, the Spicy Sesame Pipa Chicken was an absolute standout with the crowd! Each tender piece of chicken was coated in a sweet-spicy glaze that tasted like a cross between chilli chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The dish was generously crowned with sesame seeds and fried shallots, giving it an extra nutty depth of flavour.
